About the Artist
Commenced business in Maldon Central Victoria as Tony Kean Jewellery in 1979 after a career as a secondary teacher. Tony's distinctive theme is Australian landscapes and animal in jewellery and sculpture. His sculptural works are often supplied to the Federal and State governments, councils and corporations as giftware and awards. Establishing a retail presence in Bath Lane Bendigo in 1995, Tony is the maker of the current Greater Bendigo Mayoral chain. Since late 2007 Tony Kean Jewellery has been owned and operated by Kate Blackwood (GSGA member 136), Tony continued to provide services to the Bath Lane gallery/workshop up until it closed in 2018. A founding member of the Gold and Silversmith Guild Australia, Tony continues to work from his home studio as required.
